MEP Categories – Key, p. 11 in Trainer’s Resource Materials
Trainer’s Notes
Read the directions from the slide.
Give participants about five minutes to read through each of the categories and the statement cards attached to them.
Once participants are done, debrief each category, one at a time. Note that only the trainer has the Key to guide the discussion.
During the debrief, pay special attention to any cards participants thought were misplaced and clarify as necessary.
Once the discussion is over, pass out answer keys so participants have their own copies. Ask participants to add any MEP services that were added to the chart paper to their handout.
Talking Points
If a parent understands the purpose of the MEP, he or she will be more secure in knowing with what the program can and cannot assist.
Services offered through the MEP can vary among states or even among school districts in the same state. Add any local services that the school districts represented offer to their migratory families and youth.
