Click to unveil the first step on the graphic. (The three steps in the communication process are hidden on the slide.) Read and ask participants to write the step in their Outline (p.3).
Follow the same process to unveil the second and third step.
Once all steps have been revealed, ask participants to think about the communication process and record a list of communication barriers in their Outline (p.3).
Ask participants to discuss, in their table groups, communication barriers recruiters may encounter in the field and generate a list.
Actively monitor participants to ensure they understand the directions; provide clarification as necessary.
Encourage participants to update the list in their Outline with additional barriers discussed in their table groups.
Before moving to the next slide, point out that a miscommunication can occur at any point in this process.
As MEP staff, we know that communication with our migratory families and youth is integral to the success of the program.
