Three-Minute Conversation

• Stand up and find a partner from another table.

• Have a three-minute conversation about the last family

that you interviewed.

• Thank your partner and return to your seat.

ACTIVE LISTENING

Ask participants to follow the directions on the slide. Once all participants have found a partner, click for the next set of directions.
Read the bullet to participants.
If there are participants who have never interviewed a family, ask them to discuss what they have learned so far in the training.
Signal participants when to start and stop their conversations.
When time is up, click to bring up the third bullet.
Once all participants have returned to their seats, ask them to answer the questions in their Outline (p. 7) with regards to this activity. Tell them they will be sharing with the whole group.
When all participants are ready, ask for volunteers to share with the whole group.
Click and tell participants they have just described the practice of Active Listening and will discuss it further.
