The recruiter suspects that the family has not been

truthful.

In some cases, family members may say whatever they

need to say to get their child a desired MEP service. A

worker may claim to have moved to another state for

qualifying employment, but the recruiter may have viewed

records that showed the children in attendance at the local

schools.

If a recruiter runs into a situation like the one listed on the slide, the recruiter should ask for additional information such as proof of employment that may include verbal confirmation from the employer, a copy of a pay stub, or a copy of an employment application. The recruiter may also speak with school personnel to find out if the child missed any school during the time the worker claimed to have moved to another state.
Many resources are available to the recruiter to ensure that accurate eligibility determinations are being made.
